What We Do

Overseas Project Initiative (OPI) is Ghanaian non-profit organization with the mandate to project the beautiful Ghanaian culture, histories and communities to international travellers who want to commit their time and resources to making a difference in communities in Ghana by participating in our projects.  We offer safe, flexible and affordable volunteer and internship programs for students and professionals in accredited hospitals, clinics, deprived schools and care centers in Ghana.

Kwasi Acheampong

Founder & Director

Kwasi Acheampong, since May 2008 has been working with international travelers.

He has since built the reputation of going the extra mile making volunteer security and safety his most important priority.

Kwasi holds two first degrees; Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Bachelor of Law from University of Ghana and Advance Diploma in Management studies from Institute of Commercial Management, Bournemouth, England and currently working as Administrative Manager in a hospital in Assin Praso in the Central Region of Ghana.

Ellen Essel

Health Coordinator

Ellen Essel is a general nurse working at St. Francis Xavier Hospital, Assin Fosu. She is also responsible for all our medical projects. Her role includes organizing medical placement for interns and volunteers. She is also responsible for organizing community and school outreaches.  She Lives in Assin Fosu in the Central Region of Ghana.
