WHAT YOU CAN DO WHILES IN GHANA
Project Availability: Jan-April, May-July, Sep-Dec.
At Overseas Project, we are more than an organization – we are a community driven by a commitment to inclusivity, responsibility, respect, and collaboration.
There are three main highlights of services you can choose from according to your interest.
Teaching
Our teaching volunteers have the opportunity to give lessons alongside local teachers, other volunteers and work independently
Day Care
This project offers volunteers the opportunity to play with children, learn through games and help their caregivers by being extra pair of hands to help the care center.
Health Care
This project provides hands-on practical exposure to medicine and health care in hospitals and clinics in Ghana for nursing, pre-med, medicine, midwifery, paramedic student and professional.

Teaching
The main role is to be a classroom assistant, although some volunteers choose to teach their own class. The children study various subjects including Physical Education (Coaching), ICT, Science, English etc.

Generally, school starts at 8:00am, students’ teachers and volunteers gather at assembly group for morning devotion and announcement..

Mornings are usually devoted for Math’s English and Science lessons. Children go for break at 10:00am. At this time children usually engaged playing games..

At 12pm you will get a break for lunch. You will be served with lunch by the school too. In the afternoon you will be taking additional classes and games time follow after that.
You will generally finish your placement at 3pm

Day Care
This project offers volunteers the opportunity to play with children, learn through games and help their caregivers by being extra pair of hands to help the care center. You will be supported by trained care givers and OPI staff so you don’t have to be a professional to apply for this project.
- Assisting local care staff to receive kids from parents
- Help to feed kids
- Create and lead fun activities or sports
- Coloring and painting
- Changing diapers and clothing’s
- Singing and dancing

Health Care
This project provides hands-on practical exposure to medicine and health care in hospitals and clinics in Ghana for nursing, pre-med, medicine, midwifery, paramedic student and professional. As a volunteer/intern you will have the chance to observe and work in various departments alongside experienced local doctors and nurses. It is organized with you and your goals in mind. We take the stress out by finding you secure placement that understands your goals and what you are seeking to accomplish
- Observing experienced local Doctors and Nurses and performing routine tasks in various departments at hospital, clinics.
- You will have the opportunity to learn about various tropical conditions and treatments.
- You will also take part in school and community outreach to do wound dressing and give talk on basic but important health education such tooth brushing, adolescent Reproductive Health education, assist in counseling etc.
